BruinMUN Ambassadors

With the return of BruinMUN this year also comes the return of BruinMUN Ambassadors! We aim to enrich high school MUN programs via workshops, outreach, and additional resources in order to enhance the benefits that students receive out of MUN. The goal of these workshops is to strengthen students’ MUN skills, and the content of these workshops can be tailored to your MUN team’s needs and experience levels. More information, along with our interest form, can be found below.

FAQ

Below is additional information about the BruinMUN Ambassadors program.

  • BruinMUN Ambassadors is a program that seeks to enrich high school MUN programs and increase our involvement with the MUN community via workshops on various topics. We run workshops and provide resources on a plethora of MUN-related subjects. In MUN, students learn and utilize key skills such as public speaking, in-depth research on global issues, diplomacy, and leadership that are useful in every aspect of life; our workshops are designed to help students better understand how MUN works and develop the abilities they need to be successful at BruinMUN and beyond. Through these workshops, we hope that students attending or staffing conferences at a high school level feel more prepared to take on increasingly complex issues.

  • We come to you, either virtually or in person! If you would like your workshop in person, we will arrange the details with you so as to come to your school at a time that works for your students. If a virtual format is preferred, we will work with you to ensure that all the technical aspects are coordinated for the best workshop possible. Please note that we are only able to do in person workshops for locations within a 45 minute drive of UCLA’s campus.

  • There is no limit to the frequency of the workshops; we are able to host them year-round! We tailor each one to the school specifically in order to best fit the needs of the students. As such, we will work with you to find a time that is best for all of your students and come to you in whatever format you prefer (in person or virtual).

  • Workshops can be on a variety of topics based on what your students most need. Some examples include how to write a position paper, aspects of a great delegate, how to chair a conference, how to be a crisis director, what a good crisis arc looks like, and more. Our workshops can be developed for all skill levels regardless of whether your school is brand new to MUN or if you have had a MUN club for years. If you would like a workshop on a topic that isn’t listed here, let us know and we will work with you to develop a workshop that suits your needs best!

  • All we will need from you is help coordinating the logistics of the session, projection equipment (if the workshop is in person), and the enthusiasm of your students. We’ll take care of the rest! There is no fee required in order for a workshop to be hosted.

  • Our interest form can be found below! Once you fill out the form, we will reach out to you shortly with more details. Please keep in mind that our program is still under development so workshops are not necessarily guaranteed and will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • Please direct any questions or concerns you might have to our President, Pradyumn Acharya, at president@bruinmun.org or our Secretary-General, Kamran Sheriff, at sg@bruinmun.org.
